Autahi Jungle Art Day
We had a fantastic day creating the different parts for our Jungle Artwork. We explored a range of different art mediums. Drawing with pencil, markers and sticks dipped in ink. We also tore up pieces of magazine paper to make a collage for our frames and painted our backgrounds using watercolour.
What a creative day!

Transition
Transition groups every Friday has been a great way to get ready for next year. Today we got to know our new base groups and base group teachers for next year. Our base group is our beginning and end of the day group. We will also have different literacy and maths learning groups and teachers. We are all very excited for the new year.
Pufferfish Art
After our exciting puffer fish writing we decided to do some art. We made a background using paint, tissue paper and glitter. Then we cut out a fish from painted paper.

ICT Afternoon Groups
In the ICT afternoon group, we have been exploring different apps on the iPad. Today we used imovie , imovie trailer and pic collage to display our collaborative group work.
Our disaster posters: As a group, we had to think of a disaster and how we would escape from that place. We had to think about objects that we might need.
This is what we came up with...

Sharing time!
Each day we share what we have been learning after literacy and maths. We always enjoy sharing our writing as we understand we can write for many reasons.... For ourselves, for our peers and for others. This group were very proud to share their writing today..
Reading in small groups
At reading time we work in small groups. This group are very carefully pointing to each word and trying to work out unknown words using their Eagle Eye - looking at the pictures to make meaning (working out what the word could be) and Lips the Fish - looking at the beginning of words and sounding out the first letter (again to work out what the word could be)...
