End of Year Wrap

We sang some songs, we ate our picnics, the Year Six kids did their speeches, the teachers did a funny dance and we did a haka. What a fun night!

Bubbles Writing

Kath's monster group have been reading a shared book called Bubbles this week. In the book the bubbles go up, up, up and over lots of things before they POP on a hedgehog. We did some writing every day, making sure we use finger spaces, a capital letter at the start and a full stop or exclamation mark.

The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the nail. Pop! Pop! Pop!
The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the cookie. Pop! Pop! Pop!

The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the finger. Pop! Pop! Pop!
The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the shark. Pop! Pop! Pop!

The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the hedgehog. Pop! Pop! Pop!
The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the shark. Pop! Pop! Pop!
The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the mountain. Pop! Pop! Pop!
The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the pencil. Pop! Pop! Pop!

The bubbles go up, up, up. The bubbles go over the pinecones. Pop! Pop! Pop!

Autahi End of Year Picnic

Showcasing how resilient we really are up at Worser Bay School we enjoyed a fabulous picnic down at Scorching Bay with all our brilliant families. Although a overcast and a little windy we all enjoyed ourselves. It was a great chance to catch up, reflect on the successes of the year and talk about our holiday plans. The children had fun, climbing, building and running along the sand.

Thank you all for such a wonderful year. It has been so special to watch each and every child's talents grow and expand and share in this part of their learning journey. We look forwards to seeing all they go on to achieve next year.

Maths Outside the Classroom

We spent some time this week outside in sunshine this week. It has been fantastic to enjoy the outdoors and practice our counting and ordering skills at the same time. With a partner we had to pick a card and then run from one hoop to the other and put the numbers in order.

We have noticed an urge to transport with some of our students. We took this urge and brought it into our learning today, transporting stones to match the numbers then counting them all up.

For "I am a goal setter" day some of us had the challenge of getting our whole team across the crocodile lagoon. We had to work together and there were many little goals we had to achieve in order to succeed in our big goal!
