Morning Monster Groups

In the mornings we are now starting our day in monster groups. These groups are to help us practise our alphabet, sounds or words each day. It also means we get straight into learning each day. You can help by making sure I know what colour monster I am and helping me find my group place before the bell goes. Some days, like when karakia or assembly is on we won't start this way.

We are making words using 3 letters. The red letters are called vowels. They are a, e, i, o and u. They are in the middle of each word.

We are reading sandpaper words and then writing them on whiteboards.

We are matching capital letters to lowercase letters.

We are making rocket words with magnetic letters.

We are using a peg to show what sound the letter makes.
